Dr. Pierre’s Berry Well Smoothie will make your heart happy! The antioxidants, vitamins and minerals combined in these ingredients will not only target your heart health, but will nourish your immune system as well. This cold and flu season has been particularly brutal, so keep your whole system running in tip-top shape with proper nutrition. This double duty, yummy smoothie will even have the little ones asking for more of the “red” juice.
Ingredients:
1 cup organic berries
2 ounces of organic spinach
1 tablespoon elderberry syrup
1 tablespoon chia or whole flax-seeds
1/3 medium banana
¾ cup nondairy milk (may add more or less based on preferred consistency)
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients into a “bullet” style or traditional blender. Blend well until no chunks remain. Sip and enjoy to your heart’s content.
*BONUS TASTY TIP*:
These ingredients can also be used in your next bowl of heart healthy oatmeal (but skip the spinach for best results).
